Gold Standard's 2025 Annual Report marks the first year of implementing our 2025–2030 strategy, highlighting how we strengthened our standards, expanded access to international carbon markets and continued to deliver high-integrity climate action that benefits people and nature.

In 2025, Gold Standard-certified projects generated an estimated $12.4 billion in shared value, bringing the cumulative total since 2003 to $71.8 billion. Across our portfolio, projects delivered 1278 verified contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, taking the all-time total to 9381 contributions across all 17 Goals.

Our portfolio grew to 4464 projects, with 482 new projects entering the certification pipeline during the year. Gold Standard-certified projects issued 81 million carbon credits, while retirements increased to 37 million, reflecting continued demand for high-integrity climate action.

During the year, we advanced the alignment of our requirements and methodologies with the Paris Agreement, expanded access to compliance markets through initiatives including CORSIA, and launched our first Nature Responsibility Framework alongside an updated Climate Responsibility Framework. We also continued to strengthen our assurance model, digital ecosystem and support for project developers and Validation and Verification Bodies.
