The UN estimates that the annual funding needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 is nearly $4 trillion.

Gold Standard strives to close this gap by developing standards that allow impact fund managers, corporate investors, government, development finance institutions, philanthropic organisations, insurers and other investors to manage, measure and maximise their impact across the Sustainable Development Goals using a broad range of financial instruments.

Gold Standard developed standards provide assurance for credible SDG claims and support the resilience of investments in the face of climate change. Gold Standard certification maximises positive impact on nature, climate, and society to meet the net zero ambition of the Paris Agreement, the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) the Global Goals while avoiding greenwashing. Our impact metrics are harmonised with financial and sustainable development standards and labels, ensuring the investments we certify comply with emerging regulatory requirements and other best practice frameworks.

Gold Standard provides a suite of tools, methodologies, and frameworks to assess impact across the SDGs rather than focusing on a single metric. These can be applied to the breadth of financial instruments, from carbon markets to impact funds and large-scape portfolios, including at the landscape level.

The SDG Impact Dashboard allows you to discover the climate and sustainable development impacts of Gold Standard-certified projects through visualisations. Investors can use the Dashboard to find suitable projects for investment and to inform decision-making.
