This document serves as a guide for project developers and Coordinating/Managing Entities (CMEs), and Validation/Verification Bodies (VVBs) on remote audits in LUF activities within the project cycle. The document provides guidance on determining when a physical site visit is allowed as part of the audit process, and when and how a remote audits may be conducted. It also outlines the requirements for remote audit techniques, as well as the procedure and guidelines for conducting remote audits. Additionally, the document offers guidelines for risk assessment of remote audits.
In general, all validations and verifications in LUF sector require physical onsite visit by VVB, except in some instances as mentioned in the document, where remote audits are allowed. The project developers and CMEs shall request a remote audit, and the VVB shall assess the need and the feasibility of a remote audit according to current site visit requirements. The VVB will then decide whether to conduct a remote audit or conduct an onsite visit along with remote audit techniques.
Stakeholders are encouraged to share their suggestions and observations on the remote audit requirements. Specific feedback are also solicited on the following:
• Feedback is requested on whether more guidance is needed for VVBs on the specific RS applications that will be used for the remote audit (for example the minimum spatial resolution of RS data to be used for ascertaining project boundary etc.).
• Further suggestions are invited to highlight where more clarity is required for remote audit
